Security Mesh
for Doors and Windows in Malaysia
Security mesh is a stainless steel mesh screen held in a rigid aluminium frame and closed with a multi-point lock. It lets air and light in like a mosquito screen, but it is designed to resist forced entry in a way ordinary insect mesh cannot. Renex Steel, established in 2013, supplies and installs security mesh doors and windows made to measure for each opening, with a showroom in Sungai Buloh, Selangor.
Renex Steel provides custom security mesh features in Malaysia that are made to be as durable and safe as possible. Their unique qualities blend perfectly with home decor while offering resistance to intruders. Renex meshes prioritize strength, style, and usefulness. They are simple to install, provide excellent ventilation, and have cutting-edge security features for long-term security.

What is Security mesh used for?
Security mesh does the job of an iron grille and a mosquito net in one screen. You can leave a door or window open for fresh air, keep mosquitoes out, and still have a locked barrier between your home and the outside. You may also see it called a security screen or a security mesh screen.
It is most often fitted on:
-
main entrances and back doors
-
sliding doors to the garden, patio or balcony
-
kitchen and utility windows
-
ground-floor windows and any window that is easy to reach from outside
Security Mesh Door Types and Configurations
Normally installed at entrance points or perimeters of an area, a security mesh is a strong barrier that guards against physical threats and prevents unwanted access. The construction of this object, made of aluminum or high-tensile steel, is intended to preserve airflow and visibility while offering a robust, practically impenetrable layer of safety. It is frequently paired with locking systems and strengthened frames for further protection.
The presence of security meshes allows for increased physical security, break-in prevention, and protection against pests while preserving natural light and ventilation. These unobtrusive materials, in contrast to conventional security bars, provide strong defense without detracting from the building's appearance. Many people rely on security meshes to protect their residences and places of business without sacrificing comfort or beauty. They provide an efficient, non-intrusive means of improving general security, particularly in local areas with concerning crime rates.

How Security Mesh is Built
The protection comes from three parts working together, not from adding more layers of mesh.
-
Stainless steel mesh. Much thicker and stronger than the fibreglass or aluminium mesh in a normal mosquito screen, so it is far harder to cut or push through.
-
Aluminium frame. A rigid, powder-coated aluminium frame holds the mesh tight so it cannot simply be pushed out of place.
-
Multi-point lock. Doors lock at several points from top to bottom instead of at one point, which makes them much harder to pry open.
Mosquito Mesh or Security Mesh?
Not every opening needs the same protection. Many homes put security mesh on the main entrances and the easiest-to-reach openings, and use lighter mesh elsewhere.
Option | What it does | Where it suits |
|---|---|---|
Mosquito mesh | Keeps mosquitoes and insects out and lets air through | Lower-risk openings, or a tighter budget |
Security Mesh | Stainless steel security mesh, a rigid frame and a multi-point lock | Main entrances and the openings most likely to be targeted |
Security Mesh or Iron Grille?
An iron grille usually costs less to install. But iron rusts and needs repainting, it often depends on a single lock or an added padlock, and a rusted grille can be hard to open when you need it quickly. Security mesh costs more at the start. In return there is no repainting, you get a multi-point lock, and you keep your view, light and airflow without a separate mosquito net. If you like the look of a grille, see our aluminium grille with netting.
Iron grille | Security mesh | |
|---|---|---|
Cost to install | Lower | Higher |
Rust and repainting | Iron rusts and needs repainting | Stainless steel mesh in an aluminium frame, no repainting needed |
Lock | Often a single lock or an added padlock | Multi-point lock |
Opening it when you need to | A rusted grille can be hard to open quickly | Far less prone to rust than iron, so less likely to seize |
View, light and airflow | Bars, and often a separate mosquito net, block part of the view and light | Fine mesh keeps the view, light and airflow |
Insects | Needs a separate mosquito net | Keeps mosquitoes and other insects out |
Best for | Low-risk openings on a tight budget | Main entrances, sliding doors and easy-to-reach windows |
How Much Does Security Mesh Cost in Malaysia?
The price depends on the size and number of openings, the grade of stainless steel, the frame, the lock system, and whether supply and installation are included in the quote. Two quotes for 'stainless steel mesh' can differ a lot because the product behind them is not the same. When you compare quotes, ask what the mesh is made of, how thick it is, what the frame is made of, how many lock points each door has, and what the warranty covers. For an accurate price, send us photos and sizes of your doors and windows on WhatsApp.
Made to Measure,
including Older Homes
Every opening is measured on site and the frame is made to that size, so non-standard and uneven openings in older houses can be fitted too. We install without breaking the wall or changing the structure, and where an uneven wall leaves a small gap, we close it with a trim piece for a neat finish.

Security Mesh in a Condo or Apartment
Fitting security mesh on the inside of a window is usually allowed. Fitting it on the outside of the building changes the look of the facade, so it normally needs approval from the management first. Check your house rules before you order.
